Images & Words
I’m a hobbiest photographer. I love music, cities and people, more or less in that order. I’ll be posting up some thematic collections here as I try to avoid social media. I’ve been doing mostly street-style photos for the past few years, in addition to my travel, but I’m looking to do more portrait and people work. My issue is asking to take strangers photos, at least here in Japan.
Tokyo Street Portrait Workshop
A few weeks ago I signed up for a flash photography workshop run by Japanese photographer Tatsuo Suzuki. Suzuki-san is known for his gritty black and white street photos that capture the movement of the city but also shoots underground rock shows and more recently doing street portraits with models.
Emo/Math @Hokage Osaka
Music Bar Hokage is a small 2-level basement bar, maybe like 50 SQM at best on its stage-less venue room, and then a level down a tiny bar and hangout area for between sets. I’d exported playlists, genres, and music and venue likes into Claude, which described this as a long-established underground venue for small and up-and-coming acts and this night as a mixture of emo-math-influenced rock, my cup of tea.
